Interesting piece. However Ta-Teguru is not Ta-Neteru as suggested by the author. Tate is father or a father figure. In ancient Egypt, a pharaoh had such a father figure. His name was also TATE. The same father figure was present at the Mwenemutapa court. We learn this from Randles and also from Chigwedere.
Speaking of ancient Egypt, their equivalent of GREAT was WURU. This is a variant of GURU depending on the class noun. The hieroglyph for GREAT is a sparrow. With respect to hierarchical greatness, a throne is the preferred hieroglyph for GREAT. We find this in the name of WUSHEWURU, since Hellenized to Osiris.
From the foregoing, TATEGURU is clearly GREAT FATHER. Put simply, it is paternal ancestor.
Let me touch on the word NETERU. Without the vowels, inserted out of guesswork rather than anything substantive, it is NTR. Among the Nilotic Kalenjin people of the Rift Valley, NETERU means GOD. Within the Bantu, we get the closest equivalent if N is interchanged with M thereby yielding MTR, which is fairly common among the Kalanga. If we take the liberty of inserting vowels, we may end up with MuToRo. This, among the Karanga, is the name of a TEMPLE. It is in the MUTORO temple that religious services for rain are held.
I was going to touch on the origins of the word Ethiopia. I will, be that as it may, only point out that the Ethiopia that we know of today is not the Ethiopia of ancient times. That is all I shall say.
