Hell Comes to Breakfast ((3) Facebook)

Shumba Reaz Wafa, makati we ought to be proud of Mnangagwa's procurement of the Chinese vaccine --- which some are saying we were given gratis as a donation. I pointed out that it was an experimental batch after which you obliquely said statements such as the one I made was a result of a lack of pride in one's country. I am not sure whence ought to come that peculiar pride in receiving what we hope and pray does not turn out to be a donated dengu rine mhungu dzine huturu. Here is the issue, my dear friend, you were wrong to denounce our concern. I honestly think you innocently mistook a scientific and medical concern to dress it in political rugs soaked to complete wetness in highly flammable paraffin before publicly torching that concern.

Whereas you are a journalist, and a very good one that I greatly admire, please bear in mind that when scientists like me speak up on the general medical welfare of our people, we speak out of genuine patriotism and profound love for our fellow Zimbabweans. We choose to bring to bear our scientific knowledge and expertise to save and serve our fellow Zimbabweans. Yes, we are naturally political, as has to be expected from a people imbued in politics from a tender age, but that alone does not and cannot negate our scientific and medical knowledge. Shumba, garai makapabatisisa ipapa.

Like I said, you were wrong to politically dismiss off our concerns made on purely scientific and medical grounds. I am not saying this to pin you into a corner after all a mere mortal cannot do that to a tough Lion like you. At any rate, now we hear your Mnangagwa government is publicly telling everyone the very same words of caution you had previously denounced as unpatriotic. Zvino muchatii nhai Chikara?

Inzwaika Shumba, political fealty must never ever lead us to a path that ultimately takes us to a place where mortal danger lurks and crouches in the tall grass waiting to mortally pounce on our people. If that brand of loyalty does, I say we are treasonous. We cannot betray our people because there are cheap and short-term benefits from it. Expedience ought to have limits, Shumba.

Ndinoera Moyo.

Asante sana.
